Get to know the Communities of Kanata Lakes! Kanata Lakes stretches North from Highway 417, bordered on one side by Terry Fox Drive and on the other side by the neighbourhood of Beaverbrook. It is characterized by ample cultivated parks, a mixture of housing sizes and styles, access to schools and community centres and beautiful, protected green space.

Richardson Ridge

The newest community in Kanata Lakes, Richardson Ridge is nestled along a ridge between Terry Fox Drive and Kanata Avenue. The area continues to have developable land and has all the benefits and challenges which a new neighbourhood can have.

Kanata Estates

Kanata Estates is the second newest neighbourhood in Kanata Lakes. It runs North from Kanata Avenue and is bordered on one side by Goulbourn Forced Road and on the other side by the newer neighbourhood of Richardson Ridge. The northern boundary of the community is the Provincially protected wetland of Kizell Pond. The community has both a Catholic High School and Catholic Primary school on its borders.

Goldridge/ Heritage Hills

One of the more mature neighbourhoods in the community, the Goldridge/ Heritage Hills area resides within easy access of the Kanata Centrum and Signature Centre shopping areas. The neighbourhood boasts several mature parks as well as walking paths. It is also home to a unique community asset, SS#1, a former one room school house which now serves as a community centre.

Beaverpond (Walden and surrounding streets)

This neighbourhood runs between Kanata Avenue on one end of Walden Drive and the Beaverpond at the other end of Walden Drive. The Beaverpond area and pathway runs along the Northern end of the neighbourhood, with multiple crescents and cul de sacs running off of Walden Drive. The community hosts several parks as well as green space access to the Kanata Lakes golf course, which it borders to the South.

Kanata Golf Course Area including Knudson, Weslock and Shaughnessy Village

Feeding off of Campeau Drive, this community provides easy access to central Kanata’s amenities, while maintaining the views associated with the golf course.

Knudson Drive and Weslock Way are winding roads forming an artery through the community. Knudson runs from Campeau Drive at one end, to Kanata Avenue on the other, Weslock runs from Knudson up to Walden and the Beaverpond area. It also provides the connection to Beaverbrook. The Kanata Lakes golf course runs through this community, providing beautiful views and green space access throughout the year.
