Update on Blasting Operations North of the Beaverpond
From reports from the City, the blasting operations are nearing the half-way point and are expected to be completed in the May-June timeframe. They currently have vibration monitors on the Goulbourn Forced Road, Ironside Court and Cecil Walden Ridge. The vibration consultants, DST, will relocating some of the monitors to the Hansen/Kimmins area soon. The City also mentioned that vibration levels to-date have been well below any levels of concern.
The reporting process in the event there is property damage:
- Contact Anas Saleh, Project Manager (firstname.lastname@example.org) (Vibration Consultant who has asked that all correspondence about issues/claims be directed to him.)
- Homeowner should consider contacting their insurance company especially if it is a large claim.
- Contact the City of Ottawa – make sure they are aware of the problem.
- Contact KLCA representative for the Beaverpond area. D. Sward (email@example.com). KLCA would like to be kept aware of blasting issues.
It should be noted that minor property damage such as a fallen picture, etc. should be reported to DST. The blasting company will deal directly with the homeowner at the end of the project.
